Début de la « remontada » vers Laval
Le réveil de ce jeudi 30 octobre 2025 est encore bien matinal ! Le vent était bien présent et a soufflé toute la nuit créant de grands hurlements entre porte et fenêtre !
Autant dire que ça n’a pas trop plu à N’Lou qui grognait tandis que Madjo a ronflé comme jamais… Nous découvrons avec surprise que le petit-déjeuner est inclus avec la nuit. Je me rends donc au restaurant pour demander si les chiens peuvent nous accompagner. C’est un grand oui… Au moins ils n’aboiront pas des la chambre en notre absence.
Là-bas, nous sommes accueillis par Julio, un argentin avec qui je me lance dans une grande discussion en espagnol ! Le pourquoi du comment il est arrivé ici. C’est toujours un plaisir pour moi de retrouver les échanges en langues étrangères dont je ne me lasse pas… Mais nous finissons quand même par rejoindre le buffet pour profiter de ce repas sorti de nulle part !
On the road again !
Nous reprenons finalement la route vers 09h45 direction Annecy. Damien m’a offert, l’année dernière pour mon anniversaire, un vol en parapente en Haute-Savoie. Autant dire que l’occasion était trop belle pour ne pas y faire un stop. en prime, c’était pour nous l’occasion de revoir les copains Camille et Quentin.
Après 328472 modifications de plans, nous avons finalement booké le vol pour le 31 octobre en milieu de journée. La route se fait principalement sous la pluie et en traversant une trentaine de tunnels. Nous avons décidé de prendre l’autoroute car via la nationale, nous en avions pour onze heures de route (au lieu de six).
Sur la route, un seul stop dans une petite ville du côté de Turin un peu avant la frontière. Il est temps de se restaurer. Quitté à être en Italie, autant profiter d’une dernière pizza… Nous jetons notre dévolu sur une pizzeria locale, mais quand nous y arrivons… Ils sont en train de fumer dehors et ont déjà passé la serpillère. Pourtant pas de souci, ils nous demandent de patienter « due minuti » le temps que ça sèche pour nous servir ! Il est 13h20, on a failli être déçus !
Le budget y est passé !
C’est Damien qui a choisi le resto, après que le premier ne nous inspire pas confiance. Celui-ci est dans l’ambiance kebab, et on nous amène des prospectus dépliants en guise de tarif, des gobelets en plastique et des couverts en bois. On se regarde avec un sourire en coin « au moins, ils n’ont pas de vaisselle à faire » ! On va proposer ça chez Tartine & Rustine… 🤷🏻♀️
Et pourtant, l’habit ne fait pas le moine : les pizzas étaient une dinguerie. Ils ont sorti un énorme jambon de Parme pour ma pizza et on s’est régalé. Ils ont même donné deux belles tranches de prosciutto aux chiens ! Nous repartons donc avec le ventre rempli pour finir la route avec des paysages dingos sur les montagnes environnantes.
Ah oui tiens, les montagnes ! Va bien falllir les traverser à un moment. Nan ? Ohhh la belle surprise ! On va prendre le tunnel de Fréjus… Allez, on lance les paris… Combien ça coûte ? Seulement 55,80€ pour 13 kilomètres… Damien était fou : « Non mais ils se sont trompés de catégorie de véhicule là, c’est pas possible ». Non non, 4,30€ du kilomètre… c’est juste viable ! Quand ils ont proposé le business plan à la banque, ils n’ont pas du avoir du mal à choper un financement eux… 😜 Mieux vaut en rire !
Les lacets de Montvernier
Alors que nous passons la frontière au milieu du tunnel, donc vers 27,90€… Nous décidons une fois de l’autre côté de récupérer la nationale pour cesser de nous faire plumer. L’occasion de passer à proximité des lacets de Montvernier, un joli col en plein cœur de la Maurienne. Je ne suis pas très à l’aise en montagne en tant que passagère et je prends mon mal en patience pendant les trois kilomètres (et 18 virages) que dure l’ascension.
Pour la petite histoire, ces lacets (et surtout cette route) ont été entièrement construits à la main par 36 ouvriers et à l’aide d’un camion permettant d’acheminer le ciment…En 1933, la construction prend fin après 11 mois de travaux et devient une des routes les plus spectaculaires de Maurienne et de Savoie. Il aurait donc été dommage de passer à côté ! Mais du coup, ça a donné des idées à Damien car le triathlon de la Madeleine emprunte ces lacets et il s’y projette déjà…
On profite d’un point de vue sur les hauteurs et sur la vallée avant de reprendre notre route direction Annecy.
Retrouvailles avec les copains
Alors que nous nous remettons au volant dans l’optique de réserver une chambre pour ce soir (les options sont pas folles…), Camille nous écrit « venez à la maison » ! Nous avions déjà changé de plans 50000 fois et ne voulions pas les embêter… Et finalement, nous serons chez eux dans 1h30 environ ! Timing parfait et nous voilà ravis de rejoindre les copains !
Camille et Quentin ce sont nos cyclopotes qui ont, comme nous, rallié la France au Cap Nord, une année pile après nous. Nous nous étions rencontrés pour de vrai à Saint-Jorioz lors de l’Alpsman de Damien en juin 2024 et ce sont eux qui nous ont conseillé la Corse comme destination automnale… Autant dire que l’on a pas mal d’atomes crochus et que c’était un vrai plaisir de se retrouver et de parler voyage, GR20, Corse, et tout autres aventures… Le tout autour de notre première raclette de la saison (d’automne hein… été on avait déjà fait 🤷🏻♀️) 😜 Merci les copains !
